2011 Educational Programs

AIChE is organizing an entire day of tightly structured half day tutorials on subjects of immediate interest to those working in chemical engineering or related disciplines. These mini-courses emphasize the practice rather than the theoretical. In keeping with the Solution Focus of the New Chem Show, AIChE's sessions will focus on real plant issues like mixing, filtration, solids handling and process safety with a special emphasis on food, pharmaceutical and product design. These sessions will help attendees to produce better products in less time and at lower cost, handle solids more efficiently and achieve better results in mixing, separation, and crystallization - all while doing so in a way that is both sustainable and safe for the planet and the environment.

Nanotechnology is already transforming our lives with new technologies and products. As Nanotechnology tools and devices are developed, nanoparticles and nano-engineered materials and systems will play important roles in a number of industrial sectors such as advanced materials, biotechnology, electronics and information technology, energy, healthcare and medicine, and industrial products. Nanotechnology is also increasingly helping to achieve commercialization of new green technologies.

The conference will emphasize colloids and surface modifications benefiting nanotechnology applications, nanoparticle synthesis and nano-bio convergence and their emerging technologies and markets. It will feature cutting edge research in colloids and surfaces, nanoparticles, nano and green technologies and commercialization from some of the world's leading colloid and nano scientists, technologists and business leaders. The program will provide attendees an unmatched look at the state-of-the-art in these emerging technologies and how these technologies are reaching the market place.

This unique meeting will bridge the gap between science, technology and commercialization and attract an international group of participants that represent the research, business, and investment communities.
